Sing It Out (Grades 9-12)

A unique 14-week journey of self-actualization, resiliency, relationship building, and artistic expression. With AHA! facilitators and music mentors, teens navigate an individual and shared journey of claiming their voices and identities, culminating in their mastery of one solo cover song and performance (backed by a live rock band) on the historic Lobero Theater stage. In most cycles of this group, teens are joined by two adult staff participants on the same journey of vulnerability and growth.

The final performance, which has been called “the feel-good event of the year,” gives participants a once-in-a-lifetime rock-star moment in front of a packed and loving house. No singing or performance experience needed to join.

Unlike our other Spring groups, enrollment for Sing it Out begins in late October/early November (Sing It Out is a Spring-only offering). You are welcome to begin the process of applying at any time by filling out the application form. For more information, please contact Brandon Battle, AHA! Director of Out-of-School Programs at brandon@ahasb.org.
